Banking Setup

Setup order

1. Sign in or create your account.
2. Finish identity setup in Banking if prompted.
3. Connect a bank with Plaid.
4. Create envelopes.
5. Create category cards.
6. Top Up envelopes from the connected bank.

Identity setup

Identity setup may be required before bank connections, cards, and transfers are available. If the app shows Finish Setup, complete that before trying to create cards.

Plaid bank connection

1. Go to Banking or Funding.
2. Choose Connect Bank Account.
3. Complete Plaid.
4. During sandbox testing, search for First Platypus Bank and choose the standard bank result.
5. If Plaid asks for a phone number, choose Continue without phone number.
6. Select the checking account to use for funding.
7. Confirm it appears in Funding Sources.

Funding sources

Funding sources are the connected bank accounts used to move money into envelopes. If no funding source exists, Top Up and card setup may ask you to connect a bank first.

Card readiness

A category card is ready only when identity setup, bank connection, envelope creation, and card creation have all succeeded.
